Don't Feed the Daisies

Today my little brother (who is not so little any more) is flying to Finland to speak at Webshaped conference in Helsinki on Wesnesday. This is his first speaking event. Ever. Not counting his French speaking exam in high school. He was approached by the organisers to go and speak alongside people who’s work he has admired for years, and this just makes the whole thing even more exciting. I can’t imagine how he must be feeling right now as he waits for his plane. I can’t sit still myself and I’m not even going!!

Dan is very, very good at what he does, and I find it awe inspiring that his work is admired not just by those close to him but by people around the world. I am amazingly, incoherently proud of everything he has achieved and the incredible person he is. And on top of it all he is the nicest guy ever. One of those people you can’t help but get along with. One of my best friends. So go shape the web Dan. You. Are. Awesome!

I remember when I was little there used to be prizes inside cereal boxes. Little toys and collectables, and it was always exciting when one fell out of the box in the morning to land in my bowl. Well this morning something fell out of my cereal box!!! And for a moment in time I was transported back to my childhood.

“OOOOOOH a toy! What is it? What does it do?!?!”

I then realised to my dismay it was not in fact a toy but a food bag clip.

You know, to help keep food fresh once the bag is opened.

Is this a joke Kellogs? Am I being mocked? Are you adapting my prizes as I get older? Because I realise I’m not exactly a child anymore but I hardly think I’ve reached the age where I’ll get excited about a food bag clip! In fact does anybody ever reach that age??

On the plus side the clip is in the shape of a crocodile.

It’s horrible outside so I’ve decided to have creative day… Here are the recently finished opening pages of my new Jottr. I now have to decide what to do with the rest of it. What do you think?
